IRN-BRU, a distinctive carbonated soft drink, was introduced in Scotland in 1901. Crafted from a secret recipe with 32 different flavors, it has become a beloved beverage.
The origin of IRN-BRU dates back to the early 20th century when steel workers rebuilding Glasgow Central Station turned to beer to satisfy their thirst. Recognizing the need for a non-alcoholic alternative, AG Barr, a local soft drink manufacturer, offered the workers a tonic-like beverage. This drink, initially called 'Iron Brew', quickly became essential for the workers, marking the beginning of its role in supporting Scots through challenging times.
