Who is The Sour Moose?
The Sour Moose is a charming family-owned candy store in Tofield, Alberta. We have a physical brick-and-mortar store as well as an online presence. Founded in 2023 by Christina, a woman with small-town roots and big dreams, the shop aims to be a beacon of happiness. Christina, who was raised in Northern Ontario and now lives in Alberta, was inspired to start this sweet endeavour after a work accident led her to seek a new beginning, utilizing her talents and allowing her to continue serving the community. Recovering during a global pandemic made Christina realize that she could improve her own well-being by spreading happiness to those around her. And what better way to do so than through the universal language of candy?
Further influenced by her childhood experiences in local stores and fond memories of her grandmother's candy jar, Christina has thoughtfully curated a selection of nostalgic and exotic sweets that aim to bring joy and contribute to the community's growth. She can often be found at the forefront of the shop, infusing every interaction with her enthusiasm for confectionery delights.
Occasionally, you may find Christina's husband, Maks, or any of their four children assisting at the store, creating a warm, family-friendly atmosphere that makes The Sour Moose a local favourite and a place where everyone feels welcomed and comfortable.

We take pride in catering to diverse palates and dietary needs, boasting an extensive collection of specialty candies that are gluten-free, gelatin-free, dye-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free.
